Organic Espresso Amber Ale
Peak Organic Brewing Company
Pours a nice clear amber with a finger of whitish head.
Coffee, nuts, some maltiness, mild hops. Smells a lot like an iced coffee.
Coffee, molasses, mild chocolate notes. Tastes very similar to watery iced coffee.
About average. I can see this as being a nice change of pace on a warm summer evening from run of the mill summer beers.
I’m just not impressed. It’s not bad, but there’s something missing here. I think the best way to describe this beer is non-committal. It’s a coffee beer, but there’s a thin amount. It’s an amber, but the hops aren’t prominent. In general I found the flavors thin and watery. What was there was delicious, but I would suggest beefing up the flavor a bit.
