Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

Pour:
Nice full two fingers of tan foam. Very clear.

Appearance:
Dark brown with crimson highlights. Decent head retention with thick lacing on the glass.

Smell:
Dark roasted malts, caramel, coffee, bready.

Taste:
More dark roasted malts, faint coffee, very little hop character at all, mild taste of berries beneath all that toastiness. Some hardwood in the aftertaste but not much can get past the toasted grains.

Mouthfeel:
Smooth and rich, very full-feeling, almost milky with a light carbonation.

Drinkability:
Highly drinkable, very pleasant.

Overall:
A very drinkable, full-flavored stout.
